244-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine (EX-L, Touring)
In the EX-L and Touring trims, the i-VTEC® engine enhances the effect of VTEC® on the 6-cylinder engine by adding Variable Cylinder Management™. This feature works on the principle that a vehicle only requires a fraction of its power output at cruising speeds. The system electronically deactivates cylinders to reduce fuel consumption. The VCM® engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on the power requirement.
244-hp, 3.5-Liter, 24-Valve, SOHC VTEC® V-6 Engine (LX, EX)
In the LX and EX trims, the high-output, 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC VTEC® V-6 engine produces 244 hp and an equally impressive 240 lb-ft of torque, giving the Odyssey outstanding V-6 performance. Yet it still has one of the highest-mileage[1] and lowest-emissions ratings in its 2010 class.

Do not compare to models before 2008. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle.
Drive-by-Wire™ Throttle System
Working in cooperation with Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)[1], the Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system replaces a conventional throttle arrangement with an all-electronic system that senses the throttle pedal position and relays that information to a computer. The computer then performs the actual throttle activation instantaneously.

[1] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®)
This VCM® engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on the power requirement (compared to only a 3- or 6-cylinder mode in the previous-generation VCM® engines). Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC® technology, VCM® quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates 2 or 3 cylinders. So you get the best of both worlds: V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the efficiency of a smaller engine while cruising.
